Work of Art is a performance and performative installation in which Ida Mariboe Nielsen will build and construct a stage made of two stage elements: a vibrating staircase composed of speakers, lights and more. This will happen through a participatory process with the audience. The gradually assembled stairs will allow Mariboe Nielsen to enter the stage step by step. The performance highlights the different forms of labor involved in the creative process of performance art by focusing on aspects that are often invisible to the audience, such as construction, collaboration, dependence, and support. Repositioning the stage as a negotiated space rather than a fixed site of representation.
