The spectrum of Julius Pristauz' work spans artistic as well as curatorial activities. In his diploma exhibition, Pristauz debuts a new moving image and combines it with a set of sculptures in an installation that draws from a variety of backgrounds. Navigating the private vs. the public nature of identity-construction today, he works with various found architectures, questioning our habits of fetishizing and commodifying. Materials typically used for outdoor and indoor construction meet in surfaces that aim to translate ideas around visibility, observation and surveillance as well as hybrid forms of existence and (gender) presentation.

The short movie BAD LIGHT was written and directed together with Luna Mican. The film presents a web of juxtapositions marked by various binaries - addressing perceptions around success and satisfaction, as well as their social ambivalence.
