Installation

The hands of my ancestors won’t let me go; I want to make them my own.
I feel it all the time, incessantly — this longing.
Tight, like a thousand thin threads coming together into a thick, massive rope.
Like a swaying, like waves or leaves in the wind,
the feeling of sitting on a swing and, without having to do anything,
letting the motion take its course.
Firm, flowing, malleable — like a lump of clay, cold and damp on the skin.
