Thres(hold), 2025
Video, Installation und Performance
Thres(hold) is a transmedia work that explores personal limit experiences (Bataille) and the death drive (Freud). At its core is a video self-portrait, accompanied by ritualistic sound design, playing in an endless loop on two retro TVs. The installation also features a suspended fabric collage coated in resin, composed of hospital details and personal traces. A projector and fog machine create an oppressive yet intimate atmosphere. An accompanying live performance references Lacan’s concept of the Real. The space functions as a threshold between observation and radical self-revelation.
