Plastic is a paradoxical material. It symbolizes new possibilities and malleable utopias, yet at the same time it is the self-inflicted ruin of our living environments.
In the first part of the workshop, we’ll take a look at the history of the material, its economic rise, and its diverse applications—including in artistic and design practices.
In the second part, we’ll become part of a hands-on recycling process: together, we’ll sort, shred, and recycle lab waste to create new objects.
