Readings of political iconography
The picture is pretty much a year old. Its slants paint it as momentary and improvised. It sparks outrage, consternation, and alarmism. A henchman as cliffhanger. The diagonals heighten the affect. But why? The lecture offers readings. It searches for the signatures of the political in the image and the pictorial in politics. Especially in the age of the pandemic.
